A weekend in Barcelona

7-9 August 2026

Manchester (MAN) Barcelona (BCN)

Gaudi, the Gothic Quarter and a warm-sea beach in one long weekend - from Manchester, for about £230 each.

Can you do Barcelona in a weekend from Manchester?

Yes - a cheap two-and-a-bit-hour flight has you in Barcelona for Friday evening, two days is plenty for Gaudi, the Gothic Quarter and an afternoon on the beach, and the whole weekend comes to about £230 per person for two sharing.

Barcelona packs a city's worth of icons into a weekend: Gaudi's surreal Sagrada Familia and Park Guell, the medieval maze of the Gothic Quarter and El Born, a warm-water city beach, and some of Spain's best tapas and vermut bars. Fly out Friday evening, give Saturday to Gaudi and the old town, and use the late Sunday flight to squeeze in a full final day - beach, brunch and one last vermut before home.

This weekend has been and gone.

The plan below still stands - the itinerary, the places and the restaurants are all as good as they were. What you cannot use are the prices and the booking links: they are what we found for 7-9 August 2026, captured 19 June 2026. See what Manchester to Barcelona costs now →
